POSEC method
POSEC method
POSEC is an acronym for Prioritize by Organizing, Streamlining, Economizing and Contributing.
- Prioritize – Your time and define your case load by the required goals needed to achieve success in presenting evidence or close the case. This will be different for each work detail and many cases or separate assignments may be carried out simultaneously. It is important to properly identify the top priorities from those that may be able to wait.
- Organizing – The things you have to accomplish regularly to be successful (e.g. surveillance).
- Streamlining – Things you may not like to do, but must do (e.g. report writing and documentation).
- Economizing – Things you should do or may even like to do, but they’re not pressingly urgent (e.g. experiment with new tech, or equipment).
- Contributing – By paying attention to the few remaining things that make a difference (e.g. court procedures of presenting evidence).
