Course Introduction

 

 

Hello and welcome to the GCT Security and Investigations Training Program, Congratulations on taking the step towards becoming a certified Security Guard. I will be going along the course with you as I narrate the material to you. We will also go through the practice quizzes at the end of every lesson together so that you are well prepared and ready to ace your final exam.

Throughout this course you are requested to note down on a Word Document all statements that are followed by red asterisks (***). These statements will assist you in completing your lessons, as well as provide you with the required knowledge needed to pass your final test. This word document is what becomes your  Learning Journal.

Throughout the course you will also be asked to do some research and complete assignments. These should also be saved in your Learning Journal.

At the end of this course, you will be required to save your Learning Journal of all the notes you have taken, and submit it to your instructor.

Lastly, our aim is for you to enjoy your learning experience. As a result we made sure this course proceeds at a comfortable pace giving you sufficient time per page. Therefore proceeding to the next page is only possible once the allocated time per page is complete.

So let’s begin!

Learning Journal Format:  Please complete your learning journal/document in an organized manner. The following is an image example of an organized learning journal.

  1. Create a heading for your “Notes”. All the notes and quiz answers that you have taken during the course should be written under that heading.
  2. Create a heading for your “Research & Assignments”. As you complete each lesson and complete your research and assignment, provide your answer and research information under that heading.
  3. This is just a sample to assist you, you may organize your Learning journal any way you wish.

NOTE: The learning journal and notes are a REQUIREMENT to pass this course. You must take notes while you are doing this course and complete all research assignments and scenario based question. Save your notes into one document. You will be required to submit your learning journal at the completion of this online program. Failure to complete your notes will result in a failure of this training program.

Include the following in your notes / learning journal:

  1. All research notes that you take
  2. All notes that you make during the course
  3. Your quiz answers
  4. Your research assignments
