Process Of Chest Compression (1 of 2)
- Use both of your hands (2 hands for adults)
- Use 1 or 2 hands for a child
- Use 2 fingers for an infant
- Compression depth:
- For an adult or a child: 2 inches in depth
- For an Infant: 1½ inches (1/3 depth of the chest)
- This is to minimize injury on the victim. If you compress to hard and too deep, you may fracture the rib cage.
- Compression rate
- At least 100 per minute. Complete 100 compressions on the victim within one minute.
- 30 compressions in 18 seconds
